**About the Role**:

- Assist participants with social, recreational, emotional, and life skills growth.
- Facilitate activities tailored to participants' interests and needs.
- Encourage the highest degree of independence and life quality.
- Uphold a respectful and understanding environment.

**Key Tasks**:

- Design & implement tailored plans for participants.
- Support participants in conveying needs & choices.
- Foster positive connections with families, coworkers, and CLBC reps.
- Attend to cleaning & maintenance tasks.
- Aid in new staff orientation; provide feedback.
- Document and maintain pertinent records.
- Engage with other community agencies.
- Ensure safe transportation for participants.
- Occasional personal care tasks (feeding, changing, medication).
- Assist with meal preparation
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities
- Help individuals with mobility needs, including heavy lifting and transferring
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a support worker or in a similar role is required
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and practices is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Valid driver's license & ability to drive essential
- Valid first aid certification

Pay: From $25.95 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
