**The main purpose of this position**

The Manager, Human Resources (HR), is a collaborative leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR and administrative operations at Support House which has a staff a team of over 50 staff and leaders. Key responsibilities include employee recruitment and selection, employee relations, talent development, engagement and retention, performance management, conflict resolution, wellness initiatives, and ensuring legislative compliance. Additionally, the role involves overseeing policy development, budget management, supporting accreditation requirements, and reviewing all operational activities with a focus on continuous improvement.

**Responsibilities**

- Ensure HR operations are aligned with organizational values and goals.
- Actively participate in the strategic planning process, providing guidance and direction on people and culture elements to ensure their integration into both strategic and operational plans.
- Oversee the recruitment process at a high level, including the creation of job descriptions, development of interview guidelines, and strategic posting of roles, with a focus on attracting top-tier talent through targeted hiring practices.
- Shape and nurture a positive organizational culture by overseeing initiatives in coaching, mentorship, team building, succession planning, and wellness, ensuring they align with organizational goals.
- Monitor and address staff incidents or concerns by ensuring appropriate responses, follow-ups, and prevention measures are implemented by relevant teams.
- Guide the development of the Leadership Team through participation in the Community of Practice, fostering continuous professional growth and leadership development.
- Conduct regular team audits to ensure strict adherence to organizational policies, budget guidelines, and efficient administrative processes, while providing high-level oversight and direction.
- Engage in annual budget discussions, providing strategic input and ensuring that HR operations remain within budgetary constraints.
- Oversee performance appraisal systems, ensuring that all employees have clear, measurable objectives and development plans, and provide strategic direction on performance management processes.
- Direct the development and implementation of training initiatives, ensuring that they are strategically aligned with organizational goals, and oversee the creation of a comprehensive training calendar that includes mandatory and job-specific training.
- Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring they support the overall mission and objectives of the organization.
- Oversee conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, providing strategic direction and ensuring consistency with organizational values and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal employment laws and regulations by providing strategic oversight and ensuring that policies and procedures are up-to-date and effectively implemented.
- Maintain oversight of HR records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and prepare high-level reports for management and the board as needed.
- Collaborate with other managers to address HR challenges, offering strategic solutions that support overall organizational goals.
