**Title**:Military Family Navigator

**Position**: Full-time

**Position Function**:The **Military Family Navigator** assists families with relocation, settlement to the region and absences. They are responsible for assessing clients' situations to provide information, assistance, coaching, emotional support, or referrals. Act as a community service Subject Matter Expert (SME) for families with intricate needs, working in collaboration with the CAF, local community agencies, and external partnership agencies to ensure families receive the required supports. Perform outreach/warm-line calls to CAF family members, as required. Develop, deliver, and evaluate services that are not offered by local community services and/or assist in the development of services through local partnerships. Support self-help group development through facilitation, presentations, and information sharing, engaging clinical support, as required. Assist with the implementation and evaluation of activities. Research and maintain local community resources, services, and program details. Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, in a social service setting.

**Desired Minimum Knowledge, Education and Experience**
- College diploma in Social Services, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field OR demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience, AND several years of experience in human/family services providing frontline support,
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in community services or human/family services delivery,
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and French is an asset,
- Experience In conducting client needs assessments and life coaching,
- Experience In organizing, implementing, and evaluating services,
- Experience In developing and facilitating self-help and support groups,
- Experience in client case management and providing emotional support,
- Experience working with a cross-section of the community,
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and Experience In developing and delivering information sessions,
- Knowledge of community development principles and of information and referral services principles and practices, of community services, programs, and organizations, of community information management and experience in establishing, sustaining, and fostering a network of community contacts and partnerships,
- Experience in data entry, record-keeping, and retrieval techniques,
- Knowledge of family resource programs,
- Knowledge of determinants of health and well-being,
- Experience in budget administration,
- CPR & First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Intervention, Crisis Intervention, and Life Coach Certification

- Must be eligible to undergo Department of National Defence reliability screening. Continued employment is conditional on obtaining the appropriate reliability clearance.

**Work Conditions, Salary, and Benefits**

- Salary: $44,925 per annum (after probation)
