**Job Title: Business Development Manager** **Reports To: Head of Sales** **Objectives of the Position** As a Business Development Manager at Rhenus Air & Ocean, your primary objective is to generate gross profit and revenue growth through new client development and expanding existing client business. Aligned with Rhenus Air & Ocean's growth strategy and the projects department budget, you will drive new business by conducting face-to-face sales meetings with A & B Customers, establishing strong relationships, presenting logistic solution recommendations, and effectively closing sales. **Principle Accountabilities** - Ignite a pursuit of new business by proactively setting appointments for face-to-face sales meetings with customers, surpassing expectations set by inside sales. - Achieve a win percentage in securing new business, while delivering impressive GP margins for new and existing accounts that consistently surpass new business revenue goals. - Foster enduring relationships with customers, ensuring their continued success and cultivating their loyalty through consistent engagement. - Collaborate with multiple levels of decision-makers to grasp customers' unique business challenges and logistics objectives. - Establish unwavering rapport and trust with customers by being deeply informed about their business landscape and the market dynamics, collaborating with our Product teams, other sales channels, and local Station Management to ensure customer retention. - Expertly evaluate prospective accounts for profitability, significance, and strategic value, enabling you to secure winning bids. - Augment gross profit and market share by cultivating long-term relationships with new airfreight customers. - Exhibit utmost diligence in following up on offers and driving client development initiatives. - Vigilantly monitor shipment cuts (lost clients) and swiftly implement countermeasures to mitigate risks. - Continually analyze key customers to identify growth opportunities and tailor strategies to enhance their satisfaction. - Execute strategic sales initiatives that powerfully align with the company's ambitious growth plan. - Develop and deploy innovative strategies and tactics that surpass assigned targets, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to surpassing expectations. - Meticulously report all sales activities, including Meetings, Contact Reports, Opportunities, and Leads, within the CRM System "Sugar CRM," adhering to SUGAR SOP guidelines. - Deliver solutions that precisely meet customer needs, leveraging your extensive industry knowledge. - Safeguard the interests of Rhenus A&O by astutely managing opportunities and risks. - Actively participate in all sales trainings provided and scheduled by Rhenus A&O, sharpening your expertise **Skills & Education & Work Experience / Requirements** - Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of field sales experience in freight forwarding within international airfreight, or demonstrate 5 years of airfreight operational experience. - Hold a university degree, or an impressive combination of education and progressively responsible experience. - Display a proven track record in selling logistics services, with a notable focus on international airfreight, priority freight, and high-risk/high-value cargo. - Excel in decision-making and problem-solving, exhibiting exceptional analytical abilities to scrutinize information, evaluate results, and devise optimal solutions. - Possess an unwavering results orientation, demonstrating a crystal-clear understanding of expected outcomes and relentlessly pursuing personal targets. - Exhibit a client-focused mindset, anticipating and identifying customers' unique needs and expectations, consistently delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. - Possess fluent written and spoken English communication skills. - Command exceptional negotiation skills, enabling you to secure advantageous outcomes. - Possess a comprehensive understanding of freight forwarding services, encompassing ocean and air freight (import & export), as well as consolidation. - Proven competency in conflict management, decision making, and strategic planning. - Embody a hunter mentality, skillfully communicating and forging relationships. - Embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, consistently thinking outside the box to deliver innovative solutions. **What We Offer**: - Health and Dental Benefits - 3 weeks of paid vacation - 5 paid personal days - Flexible and collaborative team environment - Generous employee referral program - Career advancement opportunities - Education subsidy program
