**Company Overview**

Friends of Wye Marsh is a registered charity and incorporated not-for-profit responsible for managing the operations of the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre is located on approximately 3,000 acres comprised of National Wildlife Area (NWA) and provincial crown land including environmentally significant wetlands and woodlands in Tay Township, in the Heart of Georgian Bay. We offer education, outdoor recreation opportunities, one-of-a-kind animal encounters, and the opportunity for visitors to explore kilometers of nature trails.

**Position Overview**

The Member & Visitor Experience Coordinator is an important part of the Friends of Wye Marsh team, and is central to the experience of every guest, including tourists, local visitors, members, school groups, and many more. You’ll be responsible for coordinating membership sales, activity registrations, event bookings, and most other services and transactions that flow through the welcome desk. While not a strictly front-line position, you will be responsible for supporting and mentoring staff and volunteers at welcome desk, as well as providing coverage at the desk when needed. You will also be responsible for overseeing the retail operations at the gift shop, assessing trends, and making purchases based on consumer behavior.

**Responsibilities**
- Facilitate and maintain accurate records of all sales at the Wye Marsh welcome desk, including memberships, admissions, retail, rentals, programs and activities, events, and all others.
- Develop and maintain all standard operating procedures for welcome desk operations and membership sales.
- Alongside the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, recruit, train, and schedule, and regularly evaluate welcome desk volunteers and staff.
- Develop and deliver reports to support decision making on memberships, admissions, retail, and other functions that flow through the welcome desk.
- Monitor gift shop inventory, order items as needed to optimize sales revenue, enter inventory, and conduct regular market research to guide decision making.
- Order supplies as needed to support general operations.
- Carry out welcome desk duties as required, providing coverage when needed.
- Facilitate facility/venue rentals, working with clients to provide optimal solutions to their inquiries.
- Attend and contribute to regular staff meetings
- Participate in the delivery of events and activities as required by the operating needs of the organization
- Provide support as needed to other functional areas to ensure an optimal customer serve experience is delivered to all patrons of the Wye Marsh
- Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are always upheld
- Support the Wye Marsh mission statement and objectives.
- Additional reasonable duties as assigned in alignment with fulfilment of the Wye Marsh mission and vision

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to legally work in Canada
- Experience in customer service administration, preferably in a membership/service-driven environment
- Proven leadership capabilities and supervisory experience, preferably with volunteer teams.
- Inventory/retail management experience. Familiarity with Lightspeed Retail considered an asset.
- Ability to provide a clean vulnerable sectors clearance

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.50-$23.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Midland, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
- retail: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service management: 1 year (preferred)
