Armed Security Guard

Job Description:

We are seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Guard to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by patrolling and monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The site is not transit convenient and you will need a vehicle to get to the work site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position.
• Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
• Familiarity with report writing.
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
• Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense.
• Registered as a security officer.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard license
• Valid firearms license -Possession and Acquisition license (PAL) and an Authorization to carry (ATC) issued by the federal government.

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
