**About the Role**:
The YMCA of Northern Alberta is currently seeking a **Child and Youth Supervisor** to lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, inclusive, and engaging programs that align with YMCA values, meet member needs, and support strategic priorities. This role will also support the successful delivery of programs and services by supervising part-time staff and volunteers, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the planning and delivery of programs that reflect YMCA values, meet member needs, and align with organizational goals.
- Design, develop, and implement inclusive and engaging programming using best practices in child and youth development.
- Recruit, coach, supervise, and manage all part-time staff and volunteers in program areas. Ensure reoccurring training (e.g. Child Behavior Management and Abuse Policy) is completed.
- Provide ongoing coaching and recognition to staff. Complete evaluations and work with the Program Manager on disciplinary action when necessary.
- Track and maintain staff certifications and awards.
- Ensure YMCA standards and policies are followed by staff and volunteers, addressing issues promptly.
- Create and manage staff and volunteer schedules with support from the Centre Leadership Team. Oversee timekeeping and payroll submissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and members. Act as a role model for professional and respectful communication.
- Actively supervise members and instructors during programs, ensuring high-quality experiences and performance.
- Ensure programs demonstrate Healthy Child Development (HCD) principles through delivery and activities.
- Communicate program or schedule changes to members at least two weeks in advance. Maintain contingency plans for staff absences or class cancellations.
- Manage staffing and scheduling within the approved budget.
- Ensure regular equipment inspections are completed and proper maintenance is conducted.
- Complete all safety documentation, enforce sign-in/out procedures, monitor headcounts, and maintain supervision ratios.
- Support and participate in emergency procedures and ensure staff and volunteers are trained accordingly.
- Represent YMCA values and mission through everyday actions. Promote healthy lifestyles, inclusive participation, and YMCA charitable initiatives in alignment with Service that Shines standards.

**Qualifications**:

- University Degree in Recreation, Child Studies, Physical Education or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience
- Experience working with children, preferably in a recreational setting
- NCCP Level 1 or 2 is an asset
- NCCP FMS (Fundamental Movement Skills) certification, within 3 months of hire
- YMCA Healthy Child Development (HCD) training, within 3 months of hire
- Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check
