Estimator / Project Manager

As Estimator / Project Manager, you will work with a team of plumbing and drainage Service Professionals in their execution of customer service delivery, education, communication, sales, technical excellence, and building cheerleader customers, while ensuring team safety and accomplishing targeted financial results. You are a proactive leader and self-starter who can interact with the public and our employees. You have a strong work ethic and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You have at least two years of estimating / project management experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors, team members, and customers.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for preparing estimates for backwater valves, underground piping systems, catch basin/manhole repairs and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liners.
- Review and interpret specifications and drawings and determine scope of work including scheduling and project planning
- Knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used to compete plumbing, excavation and CIPP work.
- Ability to plan, assign & monitor projects
- Prepare detailed estimates, labour and material costs
- Prepare final estimates and tender proposals for scope, pricing and completeness.
- Work with sub-trades for excavation, finish work, floor cutting etc.
- Maintain electronic files of working documents, quotes, cost estimates sub-trade pricing
- Knowledge of WHMIS, work place health and safety precautions and hazards applicable to the work
- Seek out new opportunities through municipal RFQ, RFP boards, MERX, and other job posting websites.
- Respond to requests to work as a sub trade for general contractors
- Co-ordinate WSIB and insurance requests
- Conduct site visits for estimating work, take pictures and measurements as required
- Prepare and lead kick off meetings and post construction meetings with assigned crews
- Ordering of lining material and specialized material i.e. sump pumps, tanks, valves.
- Operate company vehicle
- Review CCTV inspection videos and upload to clients and job folders
- Continually work to implement company systems to ensure quality, profitability, and future growth

**Job Requirements**:

- At least 2 years estimating / project management or other relevant experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and a desire to raise others to a higher level
- Team player who can work independently
- Proficient in MS word, excel and outlook. Accounting, project management experience an asset but not a requirement
- Understanding of the tendering process and familiar with CCDC forms
- Able to read and understand residential, commercial and municipal drawings
- Knowledge of plumbing codes are an asset
- Previous plumbing, drain and sewer experience
- CIPP lining experience and asset but not essential
- Strong communication, math, writing, computer and reading skills
- Excellent team player who supports continuous development
- Customer service oriented
- Strong commitment to safety
- WHMIS, First Aid/CPR. Confined Space, Supervisor training and other related courses
