**Winmar Ottawa is a leading Property Restoration Company specializing in flood, fire, mold remediation, property damage appraisals and disaster restoration. We would like to hear from you if you are experienced in the restoration industry, construction or you are a graduate in construction.**

**The Estimator/Project Manager** role includes arranging initial visits to a loss location; scoping the work to be performed; ensuring mitigation services are performed to industry standards; preparing estimates in accordance with guidelines, and upon approval, getting the work scopes ready to put the job into production.

**Duties include**:

- Responds to assignments for mitigation & general losses and determine cause of loss.
- Provides written inspection reports, taking measurements, pictures and making calculations necessary for the Emergency and Rebuild work.
- Creates accurate, profitable estimates in accordance with guidelines relating to mitigation, repairs and contents.
- Engages subcontractors to identify scope and pricing as needed.
- Estimates most losses using 3rd party estimating software, Xactimate as well as utilizing DocuSketch and Encircle.
- Ensures each project achieves a minimum gross profit margin as determined by company standards.
- Communicates and document any change orders and insurance supplements.
- Builds and maintains business relationships with clients, homeowners, adjusters and brokers.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma in Construction or Estimation or other relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience in Canadian construction and the Ontario Building Code.
- Experience in estimating for construction, writing floor plans and scope documents.
- Water Technician Certification or experience in mitigation services.
- Being organized and capable of building schedules that encompass numerous jobs that will run concurrently.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral to maintain business relationships.
- Ability to work well with the public, interacting with homeowners and business owners.
- Being able to work in a fast paced environment and maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Bi-lingual English and French is considered an asset.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Construction: 5 years (preferred)
- Construction estimating: 3 years (required)
