We are hiring a **Maintenance Technician **to join our team in FreshPoint FreshCuts.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the **Maintenance Technician **will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing production equipment and breakdowns. This individual will also handle replacement of equipment and parts, install equipment and machines, and carry out overall maintenance of the production and warehouse facility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Investigate and diagnose production equipment breakdowns on production floor
- Replace faulty equipment, fix conveyor belts, and attend to facility fixes and upkeep required
- Conduct cyclical preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery to minimize breakdowns
- Assemble and align gears, bearing and shafts
- Perform welding and steel fabrication as required with or without blueprints or from scratch
- Sharpen tools, knives and blades as needed
- Perform extensive repairs on production machine and equipment
- Disassemble or assemble and install parts on the production and warehouse
- Ensure maintenance logs and spare parts and inventory sheets are updated
- Communicate effectively and provide timely status updates on machine breakdowns and projects as needed
- Read and interpret manuals and guidebooks to ensure safe handling and use of production machinery and equipment
- Ensure all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**:

- Completion of Technical Diploma, skilled trades program or equivalent
- Red Seal certificate considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years' experience an Industrial Millwright, Journeyman Electrician, or equivalent
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, food production, warehouse or equivalent
- Previous experience using a power jack, scissor lift or power equipment considered a bonus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to converse with all levels of the organization
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs required
- Ability to work in a cold environment (0-5 degrees Celsius) for long periods of time

**Work Schedule**:

- Full-time, 40 hours per week and rotating shifts every 3 weeks
- Must be available to work 1 weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) and 4 week day shifts
- Must be available to start as early as 6:30am
- Required to work on statutory holidays
