We are hiring a new role on the team Food Safety and Operations Coordinator who will work at our Grimsby facility. This person will be responsible for maintaining the food safety and EHS systems to ensure compliance to the certified standard, company policies, regulatory and customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains Food Safety programs to meet the requirements of HACCP certification, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and the regulatory requirements of LCBO and our global export markets. Progresses Food Safety programs to meet progressively higher standards of food safety certification.
- Provides leadership and expertise to departments to ensure proper incorporation of Food Safety requirements into procedures and processes at all ON operating facilities.
- Acts as HACCP team leader, completing food safety risk assessments and reassessment of the HACCP plan. Manages document control and the respective food safety training programs. Leads facility GMP inspections.
- Coordinates and leads the Grimsby internal and external food safety audit process according to the required audit schedule. Facilitates customer audits and regulatory inspections. Responsible for the summary reporting and issuing corrective actions from all inspections.
- Responsible for tracking of Non-Conformance, Management of Change (Change Control), Corrective and Preventive actions from all sources, and the measurement and reporting of implementation and effectiveness. Supports the Operations team’s delivery of timely and effective corrective actions and sustainability of the Food Safety Program.
- Reports quality trending at Quarterly Corporate Quality Management Meeting.
- Conducts verification activities as required by the programs; responsible for the product recall process and conducts biannual test recalls.
- Is an integrated member of the Ontario Operations team, attends team meetings and reports on Food Safety compliance and concerns.
- Supports production operations as required to develop and verify standard operating procedures, ensure compliance with standard procedures and the safe and efficient operation of production lines. Supports the continuous improvement of production operations using a hands-on approach
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
- University degree or college diploma in food science, microbiology or related discipline
- 5 + years of experience as Food Safety Coordinator or similar role in a winery, food, beverage or CPG manufacturing facility.
- Experience implementing and sustaining best-in-class HACCP / Food Safety and continuous improvement practicesCompleted HACCP training within last 5 yearsStrong leadership and communication skills; proven track record of supporting a positive and inclusive work environment.
