**Abatement/Demo**
Are you a skilled and dedicated professional with a passion for safety and environmental responsibility? We're seeking an Abatement Worker to join our dynamic team and contribute to our commitment to maintaining safe and healthy environments.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform asbestos, lead, and mold abatement tasks according to industry regulations and company standards.
- Safely remove, encapsulate, or enclose hazardous materials from various sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Operate specialized equipment and tools for the proper containment and removal of hazardous materials.
- Follow strict safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in abatement work, particularly in asbestos, lead, and mold removal, is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
**Salary**: $21.00-$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Nanaimo, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Construction: 1 year (preferred)
- Skilled Labor: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driver's License (preferred)
