**What You Will Do**:
- Coordinates all environmental, health and safety activities that are required by OH&S, EPA, DOT, and provincial regulations; complies and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies; reports improvement opportunities to facility managers.
- Coordinates programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and regulatory risk.
- Provides environmental, health and safety training as required by company policy and regulators.
- Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for injury case management and investigations, including internal cases and workers compensation cases.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, recommends and assists in the implementation of corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Identify and assist in the implementation of improvement opportunities for safety and lean processes.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- Implements company’s workplace drug and alcohol program for safety related issues.
- Drives and contributes to the organization’s continuous improvement culture.
- Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
- Represents the organization in community or industry safety or lean groups and programs.
- Performs other duties as required.
**Position Details**:
- Full-time
- 40-hour work week
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Two or more years of education in Manufacturing, Process or Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology,
- Experience with manufacturing safety programs or committees
- Valid Class 5 License
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
- Good analytical skills.
- Proficient organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Good working knowledge of Alberta OH&S Legislation
- Good knowledge of Lean and Kaizen Programs
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with Manufacturing Process Improvements
- Experience in manufacturing environments related to the oil and gas industry
- Education in Risk Management, Ergonomics, Health Sciences, Injury Management or other related safety fields is an asset
- Experience with Manufacturing Health & Safety Association (MHSA) is an asset
- Lean certifications
