**The Details**:

- A valid class “G” drivers license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in Police Foundations or Law & Security, Veterinary Technology, Animal Health Technology; and preferred knowledge of Animal Welfare and husbandry practices would be ab asset.

**What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day**:
Under the direction of the Animal Services Manager, the Animal Services Officer will be primarily responsible for:

- Investigating and act upon bylaw infractions related to animal control for the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, Stratford-Perth and municipalities.
- Responsible for enforcing the dog licensing program and issuing Provincial Offence Notices.
- Patrol the city, operating The Humane Society vehicle or on foot.
- Pick up deceased animals from public or private property.
- Impounding stray domestic animals and transport to the centre.
- Take witness statements, gather evidence and prepare court documents.
- Keeping accurate, detailed notes and completing reports.
- Required to appear and testify in court proceedings and appeal tribunals.
