**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**

As a member of the Community Services Department, this staff person will provide children with an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills in a variety of general or special interest activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. This position reports directly to the Youth Programmer.

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensuring the safety and supervision of the participants and following all rules and regulations set out by the Community Services Department and/or outside organizations.
- Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the activities being led to ensure a successful program.
- Responsible for the proper handling, cleanliness, and care of the equipment, supplies, and facilities and to report any damages or losses to the supervisor.
- Ensure the completion and submission of the required administrative forms (lesson plans, injury reports, supply requests, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Attend all Staff Training sessions and scheduled staff meetings, as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age.
- Must be at minimum enrolled in high school.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification from a WSIB recognized organization.
- Minimum 2 (two) years’ experience working with children.
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary student or graduate in a child-related field is considered an asset.
