Reporting to the Supervisor, Services, the Child, Youth and Family Support Worker provides an in-home service to maintain, strengthen and promote healthy family functioning as well as child safety. Working from an approved trajectory and/or task list, the incumbent offers time-limited, task-oriented and specific services within the program to families, Kin Homes, Foster homes and Youth in Care. Assessing needs of youth and providing programming to support in meeting the identified goals to prevent placement breakdowns, encourage reunifications and placement stability by working as a member of the clinical team to deliver identified services. This position requires the ability to be assigned shifts in Emergency Care Settings when they arise.

**Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Education and Skills**:

- A Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent from a three-year accredited Community College program;
- Two years relevant experience would be considered an asset;
- Basic knowledge of the Child, Youth & Family Services Act, an understanding of the criteria used to determine if a child is in need of protection, the degree of risk to a child, and a basic knowledge of child protection proceedings;
- Knowledge of attachment, child psychopathology, child/youth development and behaviour management, the effects of trauma on the child, individual and group work and a systems approach to working with families and professionals working with the family;
- Demonstrated ability to work from a solution-focused, strengths-based, perspective;
- Demonstrated written communication skills to meet Society recording responsibilities and administrative requirements; excellent computer and keyboarding skills;
- Ability to build skills and knowledge with parent and/or youth through a variety of instructional techniques such a coaching, mentoring, facilitating, teaching and role modeling;
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to effectively engage families and/or youth in order to attain established goals;
- Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of a team to provide coordinated service to the family and/or youth with time and goal-oriented methodologies;
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule;
- Proof of a valid driver’s license and $1,000,000 automobile liability insurance.

Annual salary: $54,031- $67,543. We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package and opportunities for professional development.
