Quality Technician

Dieters (the division of High Bar Brands) Quality Technician will help the quality department and operations within our metal fabrication business. This position focuses on monitoring and maintaining the processes and procedures necessary to ensure the company strictly meets the requirements of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Health and Safety.
Essential Functions
- Conduct internal audits, identifying non-conformities and proposing corrective actions.
- Complete the layout inspections as per customer specifications and requirements, directly contributing to the company's excellence in the automotive market.
- Participate in implementing and maintaining quality processes, ensuring that all internal procedures strictly follow corporate requirements.
- Contribute to strengthening the management systems, seeking improvements in production processes, environmental awareness, and the health and safety of all employees.
- Actively identify non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions, using tools like 8D and FMEA to eliminate process failures and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Actively analyze health and safety incidents to implement corrective actions to mitigate future occurrences.
- When required, engage in process and product review meetings, contributing practical and effective solutions to improve overall quality.
- Perform calibration of measuring equipment.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all inspection, audit, and quality analysis processes facilitates traceability and data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as a quality ambassador, educating and training employees on the importance of adhering to all management systems and corporate procedures, programs, and policies.
- Foster a mindset focused on quality and continuous improvement at all levels of the organization, helping create an environment where excellence is everyone’s goal.
- Maintain transparent and effective communication with customers and suppliers, ensuring that quality and corporate requirements are understood and met.
- Work with customers on quality-related problem-solving and warranty analysis, demonstrating the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Inspect products during production and post-production to ensure compliance with technical requirements and customer specifications.
- Develop reports using accurate data to assist the company in decision-making.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Solid interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
- Computer literate, proficient in working with MS Office and ERP systems
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret drawings (GD&T as an asset)
- Ability to measure parts with different measuring instruments
Preferred Education and Experience
- College diploma in Quality Management, or related field, or equivalent experience,
- Experience in quality assurance, process improvement, health and safety or related roles within a manufacturing, service, or regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of data analysis and statistical techniques (as an asset).
- ISO 9001 Internal Audit Certificate (IATF 16949 as an asset)
