Compensation Range

Job Summary

The Equity Advisor reports to the Vice Dean Academic Affairs and will work collaboratively with the REDI team and partnering units to develop, promote and support a culture of respect, inclusion, anti-racism and decolonization through educational and capacity-building initiatives across the Faculty. The Equity Advisor will participate in the development and delivery of the REDI education programming and will provide advice on projects, initiatives and practices that will help to embed an intersectional, anti-oppressive, anti-racist and decolonial approach to the work that is done in academic and administrative units across the Faculty.

In addition to the Faculty of Medicine’s Strategic Plan, the advisor will engage with and support the implementation of university-wide initiatives related to equity and inclusion, such as the Indigenous Strategic Plan and the Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence Taskforce recommendations, to units within the FoM.

Work Performed
- Works collaboratively as a member of a team of professionals to promote culture change across the Faculty by identifying trends, patterns and development needs related to anti-oppression, anti-racism, Indigenous specific racism, ableism and all forms of discrimination to promote respectful and inclusive learning and work environments and systems change.
- Collaborates with the Associate Director and other REDI team members to determine training and skill-building requirements to empower members of the Faculty community to support transformation of our culture and to contribute to the creation of respectful and inclusive environments that promote equity in the Faculty.
- Maintains records related to delivery of education/training service and unit consultation to facilitate the preparation of statistical summary reports and the development of metrics and evaluation process to measure progress.
