Oldcastle APG Canada West is seeking a qualified individual to join our energetic and thriving team at the head office for Western Canada in Acheson, AB. The Payroll and AP Coordinator will report directly to the Controller and will be an integral part of the accounting team.

**JOB DUTIES**:
**Payroll**
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and union, hourly employees, as well as commission and bonus payments
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and other deductions
- Extract timesheets and review work hours for completeness and accuracy
- Ensure that hours are categorized and allocated to correct cost centers
- Contact supervisors for any missed time punches and/or inquires related to time sheets
- Adhere to all Payroll procedures, policies, employment standards, and collective agreements
- Collect all new hire packages from managers, review packages to ensure documents are not missed, follow up with managers for missing information
- Maintain employee profiles including but not limited to personal information, wages, and vacation accruals ensuring that they are up to date
- Follow payroll procedures for terminated employees
- Stay current with payroll regulations, standards and work methods
- Provide all new hires with login information to access online paystub account; trouble shoot login issues and reset passwords
- Ensure accurate processing of sick pay, benefits and vacation payouts
- Ensure the creation and timely distribution of Records of Employments (ROE) and T4s
- Provide employment verification letters as requested
- Complete all employee related filing including the creation of new employee files
- Upload appropriate employee documents into payroll system as directed by Human Resources
- Complete year-end adjustments and reporting

**Benefits**
- Act as benefits administrator for group plans (extended health care plan, critical illness, retirement and provincial medical plans)
- Provide employees with benefit packages (extended health & retirement plans)
- Complete monthly audit to ensure billings match paystub deductions (ex: long term disability premium)
- Collect benefit premiums from employees who are on leave (ex: short term disability, maternity leave)

**Finance**
- Scan and process Vendor invoices
- Assist AP Manager as needed
- Process monthly remittances such as but not limited to union pension, BC Health Tax, group plans
- Post payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Reconcile payroll totals and ensure all deductions to unions and health benefit plans are made as scheduled

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Must be familiar with employment standards in AB, BC, SK, and MB
- Must have prior experience processing pay for salary, hourly and union employees
- Experience processing expat is considered an asset
- Experience integrating Payroll systems is considered an asset
- Experience with Ultipro and/or Kronos is considered an asset

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**
- Must be familiar with employment standards in AB, BC, SK, and MB
- Must have prior experience processing pay for salary, hourly and union employees
- Experience processing expat is considered an asset
- Experience integrating Payroll systems is considered an asset
