- provide advice and technical guidance to management and staff
- support ministry budget and business plan development, expenditure forecasts, expenditure management/control, in-year reporting, and presentations on the financial planning process
- analyze and interpret complex financial information and program objectives
- prepare a variety of regular and ad hoc reports to support senior management decision making processes and central agency requirements
- develop options and recommendations for business plan adjustments in response to financial/business process issues

**What you bring to the team**:
**Financial expertise**: you have:

- understanding of financial management principles and policies
- skills in budgeting, forecasting expenses, and analyzing costs
- ability to read and analyze financial documents for reporting
- knowledge of the ministry's structure, programs, and budget processes

you can:

- evaluate budgets and performance, and improve cost efficiency
- manage financial information and systems
- measure and report performance data effectively

**Analyzing and problem-solving skills**: you have:

- knowledge of risk assessment to identify financial risks, assess impacts, and suggest solutions
- ability to understand financial information requests and give timely advice to senior management

you can:

- analyze financial problems, variance reports, and funding gaps, and suggest fixes
- evaluate financial performance, assess cost efficiency and risks, and advise on accounting issues for better planning and management

**Communication, interpersonal and influencing skills**: you have:

- skills to prepare and present briefing notes, business cases, and financial reports, and explain financial analysis to non-technical audiences
- ability to work with senior staff to gather information, solve complex issues, and meet deadlines
- skills to build and maintain relationships with ministry managers and central agency staff

**Coordination and planning skills**: you can:

- organize and prioritize workload, and coordinate information from multiple sources to complete tasks and meet deadlines

you have:

- project planning and management skills to work in teams, gather data, and report findings
- initiative and ability to work independently in a team environment
