**Summary: Project Logistics Manager - Canada**

The Project Logistics Manager - Ocean, North America is responsible for leading the Project Logistics team operationally in Canada, supporting branches across the country to be successful in Project Logistics, and assisting the Project Logistics AMERICAS Line Manager with objective setting and performance management for Project Logistics personnel in Canada. This role works closely with Regional Branch Operations, Regional Sales across all sales channels, and Regional Finance to continue growing the Project Logistics business in Canada.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Increase GP line contribution from Project Logistics Product through:

- Heavy Haulage
- River Barging
- Ocean Breakbulk
- Specialized Containers
- Air & Ocean Charters
- Increase Global GP achieved from Canada Project Logistics Team.
- Coach Project Logistics Team in Canada to improve individual technical capability.
- Support Line Manager to manage performance of Project Logistics Team in Canada through objective setting and performance review sessions to be conducted jointly with each Project Logistics Team member.
- Support Line Manager to prepare budget for Project Logistics Support Team once a year during budgeting season.
- Work with Branch Managers, Business Development and Key Account Managers to grow our Project Logistics Product in Canada.
- Work with our Network Development Team to select and continuously review Project Logistics Agents globally that can support OIA’s success in Canada
- Develop new relationships through technical expertise with prospective customers as well as maintain relationships with existing customers with requirements involving project logistics.
- Support sourcing of logistics solutions for project logistics RFQ’s received from OIA existing and targeted customers.
- Cultivate a culture of safety at work through compliance and process ownership when handling project cargo.
- Seek, Bid and Win new opportunities in project logistics throughout Canada consisting of over-sized and heavy lift shipments both to project sites and manufacturing sites.
- Own the response personally or via team of project logistics request for quotations from current and prospective customers.
- Ensure that Projects secured by the Canada Project Logistics Team and executed by the Operational branches are done in compliance with company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure hand-over of projects secured by the Project Logistics Team and executed by Branch Operations is done to achieve smooth operations at time of shipments.
- Ensure quotes done by Project Logistics Team are recorded in Cargowise One.
- Ensure shipments are correctly recorded as Project Cargo in Cargowise One.
- Perform operational shipments in CW1, when applicable, particularly for files involving (but not limited to) charters, part-charters and Breakbulk shipments.
- Develop and sustain relationships with new & existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies, port agents, shipping lines, carriers, marine surveyors.
- Attend customer visits as required by the Sales Team to maintain and develop relationship with designated accounts through technical ability.
- Supervise operational activities relating to Special Projects and / or other customer bookings / orders to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
- Perform negotiation on BIDs & Project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents for our Energy vertical business.
- Ensuring project operations are being executed in accordance with the company processes and procedures as set by Line Manager.
- Support local requests in a timely manner. Develop the skillset of local teams through offering advice, guidance, and training in relation to matters pertaining to project cargo and related activities.
