**Job Description**:
The Manager, Logistics focuses on all modes of Finished Goods transportation needs from our North American facilities to all domestic and global locations. They work with the department Director to oversee the review, selection, efficient and effective utilization of our outbound transportation providers. Also ensuring we collectively provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers, across all modes. Furthermore, the Manager, Logistics closely monitors actual KPI performance across all carriers. They collect, compile, and interpret the necessary operational data, to make informed business decisions that determine how CG can leverage the best logistics pricing, while improving CG’s overall transportation service performance metrics.
**What You'll Do**:
- Gathering, compiling, and reviewing data to report regularly on carrier service performance against CG expectations. Across all freight modes and carriers.
- Collaborate with internal teams and carriers to quickly address day-to-day transportation related issues, and directly manage internal / external customer communication as needed.
- Gathering, compiling, and reviewing data to track cost performance of selected carriers in the carrier base, against agreed rates and CG budgets.
- Develop and maintain load size versus carrier versus mode matrices for other operational teams to use to ensure CG is shipping efficiently across varying load conditions.
- Working closely with the Transportation Director and Procurement Team to develop, issue, evaluate and implement Transportation RFPs as needed
- Review carriers who do not meet our performance thresholds and directly manage communications on holding them accountable to expectations, via MBR and QBR sessions.
- Work with the Transportation Director to review potential and current businesses landscapes. And adjusting the carrier base accordingly, for overall maintenance of an effective, efficient, customer service focused carrier network.
- Monitor domestic and global events that could impact CG’s transportation network. And work with the Transportation Director on the best mitigation strategies
- Support other regions as a key advisor on CG’s overall global transportation planning, as needed.
- Leverage workflow improvement tools to enable CG’s Supply Chain digitalization efforts to bring digital efficiencies to departmental SOPs in conducting day-to-day team tasks and reporting.
- Work closely with the Transportation Director in the annual transportation budget development and review process. As well as monthly performance-to-budget review and variance determination
- Meet with carriers on a regular basis to deepen relationships and industry knowledge and awareness.
- Collaborate with Trade Compliance team to identify requirements when entering new markets and lines of business.
**Who You Are**:
- 3-5 years of experience leading people in a supervisory role in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
- 3-5 years of experience working with transportation/logistics carriers across different carrier modes.
- Strong communication skills: excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Excellent supervisor ability, team management, interpersonal and employee development skills
- Progressive knowledge of the transportation industry including competition and trends
- Energetic and you desire to put your fingerprints on a business
- Sense of urgency and track record for delivering strong operational results
- Takes initiative and makes independent decisions while being approachable.
- Strong organizational skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent activities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office toolsets, data analysis and working with large datasets
- A professional designation in logistics or supply chain would be an asset
