**The Opportunity**
SAIT’s School of Business (SBus) is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as Dean. Reporting to the Executive Dean, you will play a critical role in shaping the School’s future, ensuring the continued success of students, faculty, and staff. You will drive strategic initiatives, build and maintain industry relationships, and foster an environment that promotes academic excellence and innovation. This role requires a collaborative leader with a global mindset, committed to advancing SAIT’s mission and values while supporting the School’s growth and reputation.
The school offers a diverse range of programs in all areas of business, journalism, library information technology, legal assistant and administrative information management. Our career programs span degree, diploma and certificate credentials and position graduates for success by providing learning experiences that are relevant, skills-oriented, and applied in the real world. **The Role**:
- ** Strategic Planning & Oversight**:
- Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with SAIT's 5-year Strategic Plan.
- Engage faculty, staff, and students in creating a school plan that supports institutional objectives and fosters a positive learning environment.
- Lead initiatives that promote student recruitment, student learning supports, international learning opportunities, and global recognition for the School.
- Ensure the quality, relevance, and alignment of academic programs with industry needs, maintaining high academic standards and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Utilize data analytics to guide decision-making and assess the effectiveness of academic and business strategies.
- **
Leadership & Development**:
- Provide senior leadership and direction to direct and indirect reports, ensuring alignment to SAIT's mission and vision.
- Encourage and support responsive communication, respect and teamwork within the school and the institution.
- Manage and support employees through the employment lifecycle (hiring, training, mentoring, performance development and offboarding).
- Uphold Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) principles in all decision-making processes and support the institution’s Truth and Reconciliation efforts.
- Support a culture of scholarly activity focused on student learning and faculty development.

Industry Partnerships & Connections**:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry leaders and professional associations to enhance SAIT’s reputation and influence.
- Facilitate applied research opportunities and real-world learning experiences for students.
- Support student and graduate placements through strong industry partnerships and strategic alliances.
- Stay updated on academic and industry trends to adapt program content and delivery.
- Advocate for the school at industry conferences and academic forums to elevate its profile and influence.

Financial Management**:
- Oversee budget development and financial planning, ensuring efficient resource management and program viability.
- Monitor financial performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain fiscal responsibility and support the School’s growth.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline required. A doctoral degree or professional designation in a business area are preferred.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a relevant field combined with at least five years’ experience in a leadership role.
- A background in a post-secondary environment is preferred.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong industry connections and partnerships.
- Leadership approach rooted in empathy, mentorship and conviction.
- Driver of innovation and curiosity, enabling and empowering others to utilize a continuous improvement mindset.
- Creative and strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style, committed to fostering an inclusive and innovative environment.
