**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**

**Key Functions**:

- Manage the flow of shipping orders both in and out of the building.
- Ensure orders are prepared for shipping in the appropriate timeframe according to carrier cut off times.
- Ensure waybills are completed with all pertinent information by Ames staff.
- Working in conjunction with the sample department, ensure inbound and outbound samples are routed to the correct parties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Select by way of freight quotes the correct carrier to deliver items with the appropriate level of service at the lowest cost to Ames.
- Assign the proper GL codes for accounting to cross reference and track shipping expenses.
- Fulfill back orders from the daily branch transfers and ensure orders are prioritized and printed for same day departure.
- Assist with various shipping duties and responsibilities and assistance within warehouse as needed.
- Coordinating Pick Ups for Top 10 customers.
- Organizing paperwork/pick up lists.
- Staging of products
- Communicating with company drivers etc.
- General Warehouse support as required.

**Experience Requirements**:

- 2+ years in warehouse work experience
- Machine certification and/or experience an asset (forklift, reach truck)
- Supervisor and leadership experiences an asset

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- warehouse: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift or Stand up Reach Truck Certification (preferred)
