Shipper/receiver

**Job description**

This position is for a shipper/receiver for a fast growing, locally owned electrical and instrumentation oilfield company.

**Overview of Job Responsibilities**:
The shipper/receiver is responsible for shop and yard cleanliness, shipping and receiving, inventory counts, inventory management, rentals, deliveries and pickups, as well as hot shots. Shop and equipment inspections/maintenance are also the responsibility of the warehouse assistant.

**Detailed Job Responsibilities**:

- Picks and packages products for shipment.
- Handle incoming, outgoing and internal deliveries
- Handle inventory/stock, conduct stock counts, ensuring inventory control within the warehouse.
- Coordinates carrier pick-ups, prepares packing slips, bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Maintains forklift and other material handling devices.
- Receives materials into web work.
- Documents, wraps and labels packages containing dangerous goods accordance with TDG regulations.
- verifying location; directing movement to staging area. Upgrade and manage the warehouse processes to optimize movement and storage of materials
- Prepares and maintains all shipping documents.
- Process all received shipments to ensure that materials meet specifications and are in good condition.
- Comparing the materials received to waybills, packing slips and purchase orders.
- Providing the manager with all information on items short shipped, over shipped, broken or damaged.
- Maintains files of receiving documents, material return slips and any WHMIS documents. related to products or materials processed through the receiving area.
- Maintains working area in a safe, organized manner.
- Maintains shop yard.
- Pre inspection daily on the forklift (tires, fluid level, back up siren etc.).
- Monthly Inspections on shop and shop equipment (cleanliness, equipment conditions).
- Pick up/ Deliver Parts in town, as well as possible hotshots to site.
- Maintain clean work area and yard organization
- Populate and receive purchase orders
- Complies with Medallion’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Any other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Forklift certification required.
- Skid steer certification required
- Previous shipping/receiving and/or warehouse experience considered an asset
- Basic computer skills are required, knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently, as well as in team environment
- Strong work ethic with organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
- WHMIS & TDG (will be provided)
- Valid Driver’s Licence and Clean Driver’s Abstract.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to start and complete multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Good communication skills.
- Capable of the required physical demands (able to lift 50 lbs)

**Salary**: $21.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- shipper/ receiver: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
