Recycle Plus II is looking for a back end sorter position. We have openings for:
40 hours a week: Tuesday to Saturday 9am-5pm

Hours may change due to ebbs and flows of containers and senior staff vacations. Saturdays are non-negotiable.

The back end line attendant is responsible for ensuring that all containers are moved effectively through the conveyor area by sorting accurately into each container bag and making sure machinery is counting properly. As well, this position is responsible for receiving and auditing commercial customer’s container deliveries.

Be a responsible role model and display appropriate responsible behavior
- Arrive on time and ready for work
- Provide information, assistance and support where necessary to other team members and clients in the proper methods of sorting containers into the correct bags
- Assist shipper/Management as needed

Accurate sorting/processing of the containers
- Ensure that containers are organized and moved effectively through the conveyor area
- Accurate sorting of each container based on product knowledge, container identity and packaging requirements
- Ensure bags are filled accurately, with correct numbers of product according to ABCRC specifications
- Move full bags to holding area for shipper
- Accurately record the beer count while on the pallet by dozens on each layer of the pallet
- Help when needed to receive the commercial or counted and sorted customer’s returns
- Maintain regular daily contact with Shipper/Receiver/management
- Assist on other container lines as needed
- Assist CSA’s and relieve when necessary

Provide a safe and clean work environment
- Bring any safety concerns to the attention of the management team
- Know and understand emergency procedures including evacuation
- Ensure garbage is picked up around building and surrounding area daily
- Share cleaning duties as required to provide a pleasant and clean atmosphere for our customers and to maintain a strong public image
- All staff are responsible to keep their bathroom and lunchroom clean

Other related duties may be assigned as necessary

EDUCATION

Grade 12 (Alberta) General

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with people with developmental disabilities an asset

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES OR SKILLS

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; sound written and verbal communication skills; ability to count accurately; ability to work with people with developmental disabilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR OTHER UNUSUAL FACTORS

Good physical condition with ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time; heavy lifting up to 50 lbs; criminal background check
