Food Services Operations Quality Assurance

**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Food Services, Regional Standards and Quality Initiatives, the Food Services Operations Quality Assurance Educator/Auditor provides education and serves as a resource, coach, and facilitator to Food Services staff relating to Island Wide initiatives, operational changes and quality improvement. Works to uphold Island Wide Food Services Quality Assurance Program through regular auditing and evaluation cycles.
Applies a broad knowledge base of health care system and food services operations, education design and development, change management, and process consultation. Promotes a positive learning culture, stays current with recent development in Food Services policies and procedures and researches best practice.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare related field with an emphasis on adult education and training and a minimum of three (3) years' related experience, preferably in a food services environment and/or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Valid BC Driver's License.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Ability to educate in groups or one-to-one.
- Ability to analyze and interpret evaluation results of training.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities in oral and written communications, public speaking, presentation and facilitation.
- Ability to conduct research and gather information using a variety of methods.
- Ability to prepare written reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with MS Word, spreadsheets and graphics.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
