Executive Chef in Seniors' Centre

The Executive Chef is a key position on our leadership team, overseeing all food production for meals, snacks, special events and outings. The EC develops menus of excellent daily cuisine and menu rotation. They directly supervise and participate in the hiring of all cooking staff and are responsible for the food budget while overseeing all food and equipment purchasing.
Maintains highest food quality and sanitation standards. The food we serve our residents plays a significant role in their experience of Abundant Life, which is our primary vision for all clients.
It is imperative that our kitchen be a professional, efficient, learning, collaborative and happy place for the team to work in, as consistently demonstrated by the EC.
Must have knowledge and experience in cooking for a variety of dietary restrictions and a familiarity with texture modifications.
NOTE that this is a health care facility, so vaccination and mask mandates can apply
**Experience**:
- Eight years cooking experience
- Five years experience in quantity food preparation (institutional, banquet/hotel, commercial, military), two years of which was as an Executive Chef
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Asset if leadership experience was in a Union environment
**Qualifications**:
- Grade 12 graduation
- Graduation from a recognized cooking program with a Red Seal designation
- CCC Designation (valued asset)
- First Aid
- Current Food Safe
- Criminal Record Check Clearance

Pay: $31.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
