Logistics & Purchasing Assistant

**Summary**

We are seeking a Logistics & Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team at maxill inc. This role is pivotal in supporting our procurement processes and ensuring the efficient supply of products to meet our operational needs. Located in Canada, this position plays a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to quality and service.

Responsibilities of this Position:

- Quote and arrange freight domestically and internationally via various platforms
- Communicate with overseas partners to maintain relationships and vet potential partners
- Facilitate the customs clearance process for shipments, including communication with customs authorities.
- Validate and maintain Certificate of Origin (CUSMA/USMCA/CETA)
- Keep up to date and organized records of shipments, costs, and ETAs
- Assign proper tariff HS classification codes for imported/exported goods ensuring the correct duty is calculated
- Assist Purchasing & Logistics with day-to-day tasks.
- Work with various internal departments on a daily basis.
- Must abide by all company policies.
- Must strictly adhere to confidentiality.
- Organizing and filing.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications that you bring to the position:

- Experience arranging international logistics is an asset
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are an asset.
- Experience in the purchasing and/or logistics roles is an asset, but not necessary
- Experience in Canadian and US customs is an asset, but not necessary
- Have an understanding of Canadian customs laws and processes to facilitate import and export operations is an asset, but not necessary
- Knowledge of CBSA guidelines and protocol, CARM an asset, but not necessary
- Advanced-level knowledge and capability with MS Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Applicants chosen for an interview will be tested further on their computer skills.
- Attention to detail and above average organization skills.
- Knowledge of world geography is an asset, but not necessary
- Effective communication skills. Written, verbal, active listening in English.
- Must have the ability to work well alone and in a group environment.
- Experience with Sage 300/ACCPAC or other accounting software is an asset but not necessary.

Position Application Oversight
- You must have excellent math skills, problem solving, organization, initiative and computer skills.
- You will be tested on Excel and math.
- You must be a thorough person who always sees a job through to the end.
- Sage 300 ERP (formerly ACCPAC) is a specialized ERP and can be taught, but you must have the computer skill basics to move up from there to learning Sage 300 ERP.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
