This pivotal position will play a key role in expanding our operations and maintaining the high standards of quality and efficiency that define L & A Stucco Ltd. Estimating:

- Read blueprints, specifications, scope of work and technical documents in order to prepare estimates
- Prepare estimates of budget costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
- Provide estimating support to sales as well as construction departments
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyse tenders, conduct negotiations
- Assist with establishing and maintaining tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
- Estimate all project materials as well as labour and prepare for costing
- Conform to schedules and deadlines
- Meetings on site with potential clients to gain insight on their expectations and scope of work, inspect existing stucco/siding/masonry and provide estimate
- Perform all other tasks that may be assigned by owners

Purchasing:

- Assist divisions in procuring materials
- Ensuring and purchasing all the correct materials for ongoing and upcoming projects
- Collaborate with project management and yard manager to establish purchasing strategies, schedules and processing needs as required to align best value for best price
- Assisting with sourcing, negotiating and supplier relationships
- Establish and seek relationships with vendors and service providers that provide raw materials that align with L&A divisions and project needs
- Complete purchasing of raw materials, consumables, tools, components, and services as required from project bill of materials, customer specifications, and project requirements
- Tracking of materials, coordinating deliveries, and management of all material documents and shipping documents in an efficient manner
- Contribute to improvement opportunities in the procurement process including technology upgrades, vendor suggestions, logistics partners, and inventory management

Experience & Education:

- 1-3 years experience is required, experience in the construction industry is an asset
- Post secondary education is preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

- Meticulous attention to detail with ability to focus on work, be very precise and careful in your work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers, other trade partners and clients
- Team player as well as the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent math skills
- Organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Eager to learn and self motivated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Quick Books is an asset
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
- Critical thinking to analyze information
- Consistency
