**Your Opportunity**
At KRP, you will be exposed to all facets of public accounting. Your work experience as an articling student ranges from handling an entire file within the first few weeks of work, preparing individual, corporate, and trust tax returns, to providing assurance services as a team member on larger assignments. You will be given the opportunity for involvement and participation in the “whole picture” on assignments, which is an integral part of training at work. We also provide ongoing mentoring and training for students to enable you to succeed. You will gain a set of marketable skills directly applicable to your studies that will help you in your professional development and ensure your long-term success.
**Your Scope**:
- Prepare compilation engagements, personal taxes, audits and reviews
- Plan and review and a variety of engagements as required, as the individual progresses in their role
- Assist with a variety of accounting tasks and projects
- Assume the position of trusted liaison between managers, partners and clients
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for corporate, personal, and trust clients
- Identify issues and potential solutions and make recommendations for best solution
- Work within time budgets, monitors progress to budget and meets deadlines
- Accept responsibility for role within work teams
- Participate in education and training programs
**Your Qualifications**:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institute with a major in Accounting
- Knowledge and experience working in accounting software such as CaseWare, Tax Prep, QuickBooks, and Simply Accounting would be an asset
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of multitasking various tasks, projects, and strategic improvement initiatives
