**ROLE SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, this position will handle the full accounts payable cycle as well as several process improvements.

**MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE**:
Handle the complete accounts payable cycle:

- Post invoices in the system; if applicable, verify approval and coding according to pre-established budget.
- Manage the creation of supplier data and its update.
- Prepare payments for approval according to the different payment terms.
- Respond to requests from suppliers and different teams.
- Manage corporate credit card statements and accounting.
- Responsible for following up on invoice approvals and payments

Participate in month-end closings and fiscal year-end:

- Complete the closing work for the various accounting periods in conjunction with the accounts payable module.
- Monthly output an age of accounts payable and annotate special situations.
- In charge of preparing and accounting for accrued expenses.
- In charge of preparing and posting prepaid expenses.
- Make various journal entries in the accounting system.
- Be involved in monthly expense analyses and explain relative variances

Participate in several continuous improvement projects:

- Assist the Chief Accountant with various continuous improvement projects.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
- AEC or technical accounting (or equivalent);
- Three (3) years of experience in a similar position;
- Mastery of the complete accounts payable cycle;
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
- Demonstrate rigor and good organizational skills in his work;
- Demonstrate autonomy;
- Accuracy and attention to detail;
- Methodical and structured in following up on approvals;
- Willingness to learn and take initiative;
- Good team player and ability to handle pressure;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great plains (asset)
