If you are passionate about a career in hospitality and want to join a team that shares this common goal, the Muir is presently seeking a Hotel Maintenance Lead. **What you will be doing**: Reporting to the Hotel Maintenance Manager, the Hotel Maintenance Lead, will be responsible for leading the maintenance team and keeping our hotel in pristine shape, presenting the property in a first-class manner, and ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. **As a Hotel Maintenance Team Lead, you’ll get to**: - Providing maintenance leadership and guidance to maintenance team members, ensuring tasks are properly prioritized and completed. - Effectively communicating with maintenance team members on building issues, safety awareness and recommendations for improvement. - Responding to internal and guest related work orders. - Maintaining the condition of the buildings and tenant spaces, performing repairs and arranging for trades to perform other repairs, supervising such work as appropriate. - Liaising with external service providers present in the building to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with Employer standards. - Complying with policies and procedures for the operation of the building as in place from time to time. - Participate and complete safety / job related training as required. - Lead and direct junior team members with respect to all maintenance duties. - Follow preventative maintenance programs to keep our hotel running smoothly. - Light maintenance, property protection, guest services and responding to and testing of building systems (example: fire alarms) - Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. - Other duties as assigned from time to time. **Physical Requirements**: - Lift 50lbs individually - Lifting >50lbs with another person(s) - Standing and walking for extended periods of time - Repetitive bending - Climbing / work from ladders - Working overhead - Crouching / kneeling for extended periods of time **What we’re looking for**: - Motivated, high performance team player - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Organized with exemplary attention to detail. - 2 years’ experience in a professional setting supporting/ leading multiple team members, preferably in the hospitality industry. - At least 3 years of experience in hotel maintenance or a related field. - Excellent problem-solving abilities. - A keen eye for detail - A flexible schedule, with the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed. **Employee Benefits**: - Access to our employee development/education reimbursement program. - Company scholarship program for employees and family members. - Access to our gym and fitness facilities. - Eligible for the annual company bonus program. - Comprehensive Extended, Health, Dental and Vision Benefits. - Opportunity to participate in the Employer sponsored retirement savings program. - Access to Marriott employee travel benefits. **Your Team and working environment**: - Fast-paced new build luxury hotel - Located in the heart of the vibrant Halifax waterfront, minutes away from the Dartmouth ferry terminal - A team of like-minded hospitality professionals that share a passion for service - Back of house experience that puts employees first **Employee Benefits**: - Access to our employee development/education reimbursement program. - Company scholarship program for employees and family members. - Access to our gym and fitness facilities. - Comprehensive Extended, Health, Dental and Vision Benefits. - Opportunity to Participate in the Employer sponsored retirement savings program. - Access to Marriott employee travel benefits. - Access to Employee Assistance Program. **Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion**: We are an inclusive company, and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
