The Hotel Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel staff, guests, and property. The Security Officer is responsible for traffic flowing smoothly through the front driveway and responds to all concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. The Hotel Security Officer ensures that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times.

**Responsibilities**:

- Keep entrance to hotel clear and direct traffic to appropriate parking or loading areas in a safe and prompt manner
- Supervise courtesy van operations in accordance with hotel and company policy
- Communicate with supervisors and peers providing daily information to ensure successful operation
- Ensure that hotel front doors are always accessible and never blocked
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Provide response to fire alarms, intrusion alarms, medical emergencies, and criminal activities
- Enforcement of criminal code, provincial statutes, and company policies
- Follow the 15/5 rule: acknowledge guests at 15 ft. and greet the guest at 5 ft.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service and display professionalism at all times
- Display appropriate two-way radio etiquette at all times
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information
- Must have comprehensive understanding of hotel emergency procedures
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Professional attitude and the ability to follow instruction required
- Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines
- Detail oriented and the ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must speak, understand, and write fluently in English. Bilingualism is an asset
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Security diploma is an asset

**Job Type**: Full-time, Permanent
