**WHO WE ARE**

St Albert Seniors Association is a not-for-profit and partially government-funded organization responsible for serving the needs of the 50+ demographic in St Albert and surrounding Sturgeon County. Founded over 49 years ago, has served thousands of seniors, with a current membership of 1600. Our outreach program includes food safety, with meals being delivered to seniors in the vicinity, as well as promoting health and wellness through prevention. We are active in presenting webinars, live events/conferences/symposiums/classes/fitness/art/nutrition/cooking, and direct one-on-one consultation to assist seniors to age in place, as well as to work to eliminate isolation and loneliness.

We run M - F, with the occasional weekends and evenings. Your hours will be determined by the needs of the program, Community Connections, that you are associated with and will be set by the Executive Director and or the Operations Manager, in coordination with the Program/Marketing Manager.

Your job is based on building relationships, hope, and trust. You will work closely with our Social Worker - who will make referrals to the program, our Community Connections Program Marketing Manager, and the Executive Director to launch and maintain this program You must understand the ageing process and working with compassion, cooperation, and diplomacy.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are seeking a resilient and adaptable Volunteer Coordinator to join our Resource Development Team who has a passion for helping seniors age in place. As the Volunteer Coordinator, and under the guidance of the Program Manager and the Executive Director, you will play a crucial role in building and revitalizing our volunteer program. You will need to possess exceptional training and support skills to guide and empower and oversee volunteers in their respective program, i.e., food security (Meals on Wheels), friendly visits (Phone or In-person), and transportation. This is an exciting opportunity to make a substantial difference in the Sturgeon Region, St. Albert and the six municipalities. Must be familiar with the Sturgeon Region, and St. Albert.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Volunteerism - 70%**
- **Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to build the volunteer program. Expectations are to recruit, screen, train and support a substantial number of volunteers to meet the needs of the program.**:

- Train volunteers using the established Training Manual.
- Understand the healthy determinants of ageing.
- Assess the needs of each program within Community Connections as it relates to the Association and the volunteers, and work closely with program manager and staff members to understand their specific requirements for volunteer support within program.
- Design and deliver training programs for volunteers ensuring they understand the benefits and value of volunteers, as well as the most effective ways to engage and support them.
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and resources to your recruited volunteers and the Program Manager, fostering a culture that recognizes the importance of volunteers and their contributions.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to identify suitable volunteer opportunities within the Community Connections programs, ensuring alignment with volunteer interests, skills, and availability, as part of the screening process.
- Utilize MySeniorCenter (MSC) volunteer tracking and management system to monitor volunteer engagement, hours contributed, and impact achieved. Input volunteer data into MSC.
- Input orders for MoW into MSC and work with the Program Manager and the bus driver to order, assemble, and distribute meals.
