**Job Summary**
This role will report to the Director of Construction. The Data Analyst is responsible for working with key business stakeholders (internal and external) to manage resource tools for the construction management team and create systems and tools to enable informing potential future state solutions. The incumbent is a problem solver who continuously looks for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.
To be successful as Data Analyst at Northland, you should be able to manage lots of unstructured data and be able to translate them into meaningful business outcomes through reporting tools and technics. You will need to be able to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Office 365, BI software, and programming languages, have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, prioritization skills and can work in cross-functional teams.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Design and maintain data systems and databases, and troubleshoot issues
- Mine and clean data in preparation for analysis
- Prepare cost and expenditure reports to track historical performance and forecast budgets for construction projects.
- Prepare reports which effectively communicate their findings to organizational leadership and critical stakeholders.
- Translate business insights into strategic, insightful solutions by obtaining essential business information.
- Document processes into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and methods for collecting/reporting critical financial and operational data.
**Essential requirements**
- 1 to 3 years of proven experience as a data analyst.
- Advanced computer skills, including programming and proficiency with Office 365 and other Microsoft tools such as MS Visio (data flow and process documents), Power Automate, MS Project, and Power BI.
- Rely on analytical, organizational, and investigative skills to take on data mining projects
- Experience in SmartSheets is a vital asset.
- Experience or knowledge of construction processes is an asset.
- A vital asset is a solid understanding of operational costs, scheduling, budgets, and estimations.
- Must have strong attention to detail as well as problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- In-depth knowledge of visualization and reporting tools and cutting-edge who can propose various business solutions utilizing those tools.
