**Position: Youth Engagement Coordinator**

**Salary/Hours**: $17.20/hr for 35 hrs/week for 16 weeks - with ability to work evenings and weekends

**Location**: Hybrid 75% In-person in the Willowdale community and 25% Virtual

**Position Summary**: Are you a passionate and empathetic individual who wants to make a difference in your community? NeighbourLink North York is seeking two Youth Engagement Coordinators to join our dynamic team for an exciting 16-week opportunity. Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with other NeighbourLink staff and youth volunteers to have the chance to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs that support our community.

D**etails**: The **Youth Engagement Coordinator** will be primarily responsible for:
**Program Management (40%)**
- Manage aspects of the youth mobilization programming which includes, identifying upcoming youth leaders, surveying and supporting program creation.
- Oversee Community-Volunteer interactions to ensure clear program delivery expectations and outcomes and enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.
- Identify strategies to increase volunteer engagement for individuals, agencies, and corporate groups including new and/or expanded roles and opportunities.
- Develop and deliver internal and external information sessions.
- Connect lead youth volunteers with local community organizations, neighbourhood organizations, etc, for program collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory health and safety requirements.
- Create a end of summer youth mobilization appreciation event

**Volunteer Supervision (50%)**
- Provide day-to-day supervision and coaching for youth volunteers.
- Get to know volunteers and assign/reassign based on their skills, experience, availability, goals and interests.
- Cultivate an engaged and empathetic volunteer team and deliver in-person support.

**Communications & Administration (10%)**
- Providing volunteer updates to the leadership team and at weekly staff meetings.
- Track expenses in line with program budgets.

**Qualifications**:

- Volunteer management program interest or related experience is an asset.
- Youth engagement experience with youth ages 13-17 is an asset.
- Experience working with volunteers and community partners.
- Experience in community engagement and outreach.
- Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, research, and analytical skills.
- Friendly and respectful demeanour.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite is required (spreadsheets, docs, etc.) and aptitude to learn new computer programs as needed, i.e. Better Impact.
- Proficiency in creating visual tools (e.g. posters, slideshows) on Canva and/or other similar platforms is an asset
- Able to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in taking on new tasks as they arise.
- Ability to work well independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Mental health, social work, or Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training is an asset.
