**About the role**:
Our team is looking for a Maintenance Business Planner to lead the maintenance group leaders and coordinator(s), interact closely with the skilled trades and other functional groups such as engineering, production, materials and quality. Additionally, you will be a driver of throughput initiatives, downtime support, root cause analysis along with maintenance operation activities such as Plan Do Check Act's, audits, training and scheduling.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and utilizes resources to solve quality issues
- Build and maintain good working relationships with team members, union and management
- Understand and consistently administer the Local Agreement between General Motors and UNIFOR
- Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
- Motivate, train and develop team members to effectively perform their jobs

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Provide and lead with technical support during emergency breakdowns
- Coordinate and schedule compliance training for all team members
- Open work order audits, reviews, organization, and follow up of maintenance activity, while maintaining countermeasure tracking and follow up
- Follow and ensure compliance to all required Safety Policies and Procedures
- Participate in Safety Observation Tours and Layered Audit process
- Coach and mentor Maintenance Group Leaders
- Lead and participate in Business Plan Deployment process
- Communicate, educate and escalate issues and concerns that may impact production performance
- Create a culture of continuousimprovementacross business metrics(SPQRCE)
- Lead or attend maintenance throughput improvement process meetings, developing reports and monthly Plan Do Check Act checklist
- Lead and develop your team on the Global Manufacturing System (GMS) while attending basket weave meetings to foster continuous improvement
- Prepare for and attend Pre-Shift and Post-Shift meetings to ensure Problem Solving Reports are communicated and assign production requests
- Attend weekly Engineering meeting
- Manage daily staffing to ensure Department is resourced appropriately
- Complete performance appraisal requirements for direct reports
- Time Keeping input for salary team members and timesheet approval
- Involved in prioritizing shutdown and weekend work
- Responsible for Maintenance budget and forecast in department

**Qualifications**:

- Two-year degree or professional certification in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate and support team member output
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Rotating shifts if required to cover vacation/vacancies on afternoons or midnight shift
- Able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from leaders and peers
