About the Company
Our client, a well-established organization in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead maintenance activities in a high-performance production environment.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The selected candidate will ensure optimal equipment performance, provide strong leadership to the maintenance team, and support operational excellence by driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, working closely with the Maintenance Assistant, Planner, and Parts Coordinator to ensure efficient execution of tasks.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Oversee the implementation, use, and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance management to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize maintenance processes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess maintenance performance.
- Oversee facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure effective allocation of resources.
- Coordinate external contractors and vendors for specialized work and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintain strong inventory control to minimize downtime.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment to support operational improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Leadership teams on capital projects and facility upgrades.
- Support annual capital planning and budgeting processes.
- Promote a positive, collaborative team environment through regular communication, development opportunities, and recognition initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to develop and optimize maintenance programs and systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM.
- Proficiency with CMMS software and maintenance performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Solid understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
