This job will be conducted in our St. Catharines office. Ensure the proposed products and methodology in intended project installation(s) meet ESA code and electrical specifications, increase cost efficiencies and mitigate conflict through drawing design, document review, and strategizing with project team members.

Role and Responsibilities
- Implement pre-planning on projects as directed by the Project Manager(s)
- Transforms initial designs into pre-planning documents using Auto-Cad
- Review working documents for accuracy
- Make revisions in AutoCAD quickly and efficiently
- Reflect pre-planning in BIM software as required
- Gauge the level of pre-planning required on each specific project to maximize efficiency
- Communicate with architects, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturers to obtain answers to questions uncovered during the planning phase
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and instruction manuals to ensure that the installations meet all requirements
- Calculate conduit fill, box fill, voltage drop, fuse sizing, and so forth
- Review shop drawings to confirm that the equipment meets or exceeds the job requirements and specifications
- Ensure electrical drawings and files are current and issue revisions when necessary
- Review Request for Information (RFI) documents for accuracy before forwarding them to internal or external teams
- Assist with creating designs and drawings for Prefabrication Department
- Stay up-to-date on new product installation launches
- Perform costs calculations with the assistance of the Purchasing Department to determine cost-effectiveness vs. time efficiency of installations
- Provide documents to support field workers such as sketches, schematics, elevations, user manuals
- Consult with team members for feedback and idea generation on proposed product and installation methods
- Work with estimating department on design/build proposals
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- 309A Construction-Maintenance Electrician License or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma required

Preferred Skills
- Prior electrical design work experience is a definite asset
- Effective time management and prioritization skills are required
- Experience with various software is required, e.g. MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and knowledge of Windows 10
- Knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian Electrical Code, fire alarm, and other related systems is required
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential
- Attention to detail is critical
- Exhibits both a flexible and approachable work style and can collaborate effectively
