Summary Statement
Under the supervision of the General Manager the New Car Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the new car sales department, managing a team of sales professionals, developing sales strategies, and cultivating customer relationships to increase revenue. The key responsibilities of the New Car Sales Manager include training and hiring staff, maintain inventory levels, ensure compliance with company policies, analyzing market trends, and soliciting new business through effective sales techniques and relationships with prospective customers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Leadership and Management_
- Understand and communicate the company’s culture and vision to all sales staff which will clearly identify how employees should behave as well as aid in decision making
- Work with the sales representatives to successfully close both new and used vehicle deals, maximizing gross profit and achieving volume and gross sales targets.
- Provide on-going assistance and coaching to on-shift sales representatives.
- Maintain an up to date follow up system for assigned sales representatives: Assist in setting appointments with customers, maximize CRM tool utilization. Follow up with unsold traffic daily.
- Ensure lot and showroom vehicles displays are maintained in a clean attractive manner: Rotate displays frequently and accessorize display cars to maximize accessory sales.
- Assist sales representatives with proper paper flow relating to vehicle sales: Sales logs, trade information, review and monitor traffic summaries weekly.
- Develop and implement regular sales training product knowledge seminars to enhance the overall professionalism and performance of the new car and used car sales staff.
- Supervision and documentation of assigned subordinate personnel: Responsible for annual developmental assessments and periodic review of job descriptions.
- Maintain acceptable CSI standards as set by senior management.
- Adopt and demonstrate a management style which emphasizes the concepts of team approach, coaching of subordinates for optimum performance and open, two-way communication
- Conduct Personalized Improvement Plans (PIP) as required and quarterly performance reviews with sales staff
- Complete assigned tasks on time.
- Adopt and demonstrate effective time management.
- Ensure sales department and lot is maintained in a clean orderly manner on a daily basis
- Communicate with and support the F&I and Used Vehicle department and other departments in the dealership.
- Keep switchboard apprised of whereabouts at all times.
- Ensure proper dress and deportment of staff.
- Attend and conduct meetings as required.
- Take ownership of and successfully resolve problems as required.
- Goal setting with sales staff monthly.
- Assist with emergent and unforeseen tasks as required.
- Assume shared managerial duties in the absence of the General Sales Manager and in co-operation with all other departments.
- Keeping up to date on pre-owned Market trends and adjusting inventory pricing accordingly
- Acquiring pre-owned vehicles for inventory as needed; i.e. auction or other sources
- Pricing pre-owned vehicles in Merlin and Power Up promptly after the vehicle is stocked in
- Monitor Rapid Recon daily and meeting recondition timelines (5 days or less)
- Monthly meetings with VAuto Representative or as needed to gain insight on our inventory and market changes.
- Conducting proper appraisal evaluations with sales staff and completing VAuto evaluations with detailed notes

- Achieve sales delivery and KPI targets on a monthly basis
- Develop programs in collaboration with the sales staff that will increase the new-car gross and F&I penetration
- Establish and maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers
- Orders and reviews inventory daily
- Checks online presence and pricing weekly utilizing all systems at your disposal
- Recommends to the General Manager the new car inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment based on market analysis
- Appraises trade in vehicles when Used Car Manager is absent
- Reviews and approves customer contracts and resolves discrepancies
- Ensure an introduction to each customer is made early in the buying process
- Finance and Administration_
- Prepares documents, reports etc as needed
- Checks each deal for accuracy before sending up to accounting for commissioning
- Finalizes month end report as needed
- Maintains customer and company confidence by following CASL legislation to keep information confidential and secure
