Fund Development Officer

**Job Purpose**
This position presents an exciting opportunity to grow with an established but evolving non-profit and to support a powerful mission. Every year, ONE TO ONE pairs emerging readers with volunteer tutors online and in elementary schools around the province. Students work on their reading in an environment where it’s okay to take risks, make mistakes and learn at their own pace.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
In collaboration with the Executive Director and with the support of consulting professionals, your responsibilities will include:
**_Donor Solicitation & Management_**
- Lead fundraising efforts in new individual donor identification, securing new and renewed gifts, and strengthening relationships with existing donors
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective corporate partners
- Pursue fundraising opportunities with foundations
- Maintain donor databases, including detailed records of all donor interactions
- Develop and enhance promotion and recognition tools, including preparing quarterly and annual impact reports to share with donors
- Develop and implement strategies for planned giving
- Grow the _Page Turners_ monthly giving program
- Ensure accurate donor lists and proper donor recognition in all publications
- Ensure timely and personal appreciation and recognition is completed
**_Grant and Proposal Writing, Management & Reporting _**
- Find and track relevant grant opportunities from foundations, government, corporations and other funding sources
- Manage the grant proposal and reporting calendars, and track activities in the project management platform
- Work with project leads to track project deliverables and reporting deadlines and coordinate preparation and delivery of interim and final reports
- Work closely with project leads to ensure appropriate project implementation is achieved and grant requirements are met
**_Fundraising Campaigns and Events _**
- Organize, manage and support fundraising events, including third-party fundraisers, donor stewardship and annual Spelling Bee
- Develop strategic focus and lead coordination for all campaigns, including Giving Tuesday/end-of-year campaign, online fundraising, and peer-to-peer fundraising
- Lead the scheduling and delivery of all appeals
**_Development Goal Planning & Tracking _**
- Collaborate in the design and lead the implementation of multi-faceted fundraising goals and plans including: major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, foundation donations, fundraising events and individual giving campaigns
- Track, report on progress and provide performance analysis for above goals and plans
- Maintain up to date knowledge of ONE TO ONE programs
- Perform administrative fundraising duties (i.e. logging donations, issuing tax receipts, maintaining fundraising database) as required

**_Skillsets, Experiences & Qualifications_**
- At least three years’ experience in a similar fund development role
- Demonstrated success securing significant gifts from individual, foundation and corporate donors
- Demonstrated success writing grants, preparing sponsorship proposals
- Proven track record using data to drive decision-making
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM; proficiency with MS Office
- Exceptional communication (writing, interpersonal and presentation) skills, with the ability to effectively persuade and inspire others
