*Job Summary*

Housed in a 130-year-old building in the heart of downtown Ottawa's Sparks Street, Rabbit Hole is a modern yet historical cocktail bar whose culinary staples are oysters, pizza, charcuterie, burgers, steaks and all sorts of other fare. We are currently focused on growing our brand and presence in Ottawa's dining scene and reaching the next level as a restaurant.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, menu planning, and ensuring quality and consistently elevated dishes are served to our customers. This is a large operation, as with the patio, rooftop bar, speakeasy and two dining rooms we have over 300 seats. The kitchen is small but features a full pizza section, hot line, garde manger and oyster section.

*Responsibilities*
- Supervise and lead kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Plan and create innovative menus while maintaining high-quality standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal offerings and special event menus
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation processes
- Ensure appropriate staffing is scheduled and hit labour percentage targets

*Experience*
- Proven experience in a Head Chef or similar role within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification in food handling and safety practices is required
- 5 years experience working in restaurant kitchens or more
- 3 years experience in management roles or more
