Accounts Payable Clerk

**Position Summary**:
An Accounts Payable Clerk is committed to achieving Doidge Building Centres Ltd.’s service standards by assisting customers on the sales floor and maintaining an effective payment schedule to vendors and our customers. The Accounts Payable Clerk provides assistance and support to the office manager and will calculate, prepare, and process bills and invoices for accounts payable and receivables.

**Location**:This position is in Bradford, Ontario. The role allows for a hybrid work environment including both remote and store location.

**Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- Ensures maintenance of Doidge Building Centres Ltd.’s customer service standards; build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional, and contractor customers
- Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
- Reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements
- Data entry of financial transactions into accounting system
- Set up new customers in system including conducting reference and credit checks
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
- Filing of invoices after payments made
- Follows up with vendors regarding outstanding credits
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Reconcile daily cash balances
- Completes cheque runs, gets cheques signed and prepared for mailing, cash/cheque deposit at bank
- Ensuring all receiving is completed with accuracy on amount received

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Business/Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills and basic math skills; knowledge of Epicor Eagle Accounting Software an asset
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to work with and respect the confidentiality of all types of Company information
- Flexible availability based on store needs (includes evenings and weekends)

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
