**DIVISION PROFILE**:
The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) is the third largest school division in Manitoba with more than 17,500 students across 41
schools and a staff of more than 4,300, including Teachers, Educational Assistants, Support, Casual, and Substitute employees.
**EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Divisional Principal will provide support to schools and classrooms. The
role’s primary focus is advancing the 26 Strategic Actions in the 2023-2027 Multi Year Strategic Plan. At the heart of this MYSP are
diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility with a focus on Indigenous education, anti-racism/anti-oppressive education, trauma
responsive, reconciliation, and restorative practices. In collaboration with colleagues on the School and Classroom Support Team,
the Divisional Principals will supervise teams to develop, implement, and monitor projects and initiatives.
The role encompasses instructional, managerial, and leadership functions related to the following activities:
- collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to improve outcomes for marginalized K-12 learners through the
implementation of systemic evidence-informed collaborative inquiry cycles and job-embedded professional learning,
- supervising members of the School and Classroom Support Team,
- collaborating with school principals/vice-principals in guiding school planning processes to support the development,
- implementation, evaluation and improvement of programs and instruction to meet student needs,
- supporting the co-creation of initiatives to address issues of systemic racism in a proactive, capacity building, and systematic
- way,
- supporting the development and implementation of on-going equity-based curriculum and policy review processes to further
- the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives, anti-racist education and decolonization, and
- performing other duties as assigned.
**Expectations**:
- Support the strategic actions of the Louis Riel School Division’s Multi Year Strategic Plan.
- Modeling of professional integrity, adaptability, creativity, and enthusiasm for students and learning.
- Responsibility for articulating and promoting positive expectations for student learning and social development.
- Knowledge of Manitoba Education curricula and program implementation, including Special Education programs, and evidence
- based practices.

- responding to diverse student needs and the challenges schools embrace in preparing citizens for a democratic and
sustainable world
- supervising teaching and non-teaching staff
- performing all management functions associated to the principalship

- leading staff and community learning in anti-racist, anti-oppressive education

**REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Level I and II School Administrator’s Certificate preferred.
- Master’s degree in education preferred.
- Minimum of five years of successful school administrative experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in providing professional development for teacher/student/program evaluation and supervision, and
- curriculum implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop the enthusiasm, capacity, initiative and leadership skills of a school team.
- Effective interpersonal, team building, problem-solving, organizational and change management skills.
- Effective and technically exemplary communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with parents and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate dimensions of authority and perform school management functions.**
- Excellent verbal and written skills in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.
**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
- Permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
