A Protel Industries Telecommunications Technician is responsible for the installation and support of products related to home networking, phones, etc. This positions priority will be to offer exceptional customer service while completing installs and repairs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the installation and repair of data and telecommunications cabling and equipment
- Home security system installations
- Business installations and repairs
- Residential installations and repairs
- Emergency on-call repair
- Terminate and test various low voltage cable types. Cat3, Cat 5, Coax, Fiber optics, etc.

**Requirements & Qualifications**:
**Full-time Independent Contractor Position**

** $1000 TRAINING BONUS UPON COMPLETION OF TRAINING**
- Experience in sales or customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service while overcoming objections and handling both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions
- Comfortable with recommending products and services
- Ability to identify and meet customers' needs and requirements
- Hardworking and a problem solver
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to plan, organize and thrive in a rapidly changing environment
- Follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations
- Must have functional and safe PPE.
- Must be computer literate and current on new technologies
- Excellent command of the English language in both written and oral forms
- Must have a valid B.C. Driver License and clean driver’s abstract (documents required)
- Normal colour vision which is required to work with color-coded wiring
- Handle a physically demanding workload which includes heavy lifting, climbing ladders/poles, crawling in confined spaces, and working in all weather conditions
- Flexible to work various shifts: days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, to meet business needs

**Additional Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in customer service and/or sale
- Passionate about technology
- Exceptional phone and client care skills
- Positive and upbeat attitude

**Salary**: $17.00-$35.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- No weekends
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Commission pay

**Experience**:

- Telecommunications: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- BC Drivers License (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
