**Literary Events Coordinator** ($18+/hr)

Our Sidney brewery taproom is looking for a Literary Events Coordinator to plan, organize, and host literary events. Our literary events are held on Sunday evenings in Sidney, BC. You_**must **_be regularly available to travel to Sidney on Sundays and able to host 2-4 events every month.

**Each Sunday will be a different event**:

- **SG Writers Group** (public writing drop-in using the Pomodoro Technique)
- **Literary Reading **(ideally one visiting writer, one local writer, one student/emerging writer)
- **SG Book Club** (Reading List based on the books that inspire our beer names and books that inspire us)
- **Lit Trivia** (Literary Trivia Night - can be themed)

This is a great position for someone looking to build their event experience, as well as help select authors to be invited to read at SG. There is the possibility of eventually taking on more events—if desired—as we also hope to host some other events on evenings during the week, such as queer events, singles events, and show viewings.

You will be working closely with the Head of Administration, who is a writer with a National Magazine Award for Best New Magazine Writer and a National Newspaper Award for Long Feature.

**About You**:
Our team is awesome, and you should be too For this role, we are looking for someone with a fun personality that is excited to get in front of and work with groups. A great sense of humour is a bonus. Must be comfortable and sensitive to persons with disabilities and able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 19+ years of age
- Must already be eligible to legally work in Canada (on work permit is fine)
- Must live on the South Island, and/or be willing to travel to Sidney most weeks
- Must be available to work 4-8 hours every Sunday (excepting vacations or planned time off)
- Effective communication and/or performance skills with the ability to project your voice to small crowds
- Readiness to learn more about the BC brewing and literary industries
- Understanding of and sensitivity to social justice issues
- Must be a lover and reader of books with knowledge of multiple literary genres
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and friendly disposition at all times while working
