Dolce is now seeking a Manager, Food and Beverage to join our team at Dolce Ivey Spencer Canada in London, Ontario.
**Job Summary**:
The** **Food and Beverage Manager** is responsible for the administration and supervision of the operational aspects of the Food and Beverage Department and reports to the Director, Food and Beverage Operations.
**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:
- Monitoring day-to-day F&B outlet operations and taking needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained.
- Selecting, training and supervising F&B staff in accordance with business needs, productivity and service standards.
- Monitoring the profitability of functions to ensure quality and portion control while minimizing waste and broken or lost supplies; suggest action plans for improvement as necessary.
- Responding to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests for F&B outlets.
- Circulating through each dining area to ensure guest satisfaction; sincerely seek guest comments and quickly and willingly handle any complaints.
- Checking dining room, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness, proper set up, and sufficient supplies and equipment.
- Assisting in developing and managing adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Monitoring & maintaining inventory, purchasing supplies, and ensuring compliance with all food and beverage regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
**Education & Experience**:
- Degree or Diploma in hospitality or equivalent and/or experience in a related field. Bachelors' degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working within Food & Beverage in a high volume hotel, conference center or resort with at least three of those in a supervisory role.
- Smart Serve Certification is mandatory.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Flexibility and long hours sometimes required.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Frequently is required to talk or hear.
**General Requirements**:
- Demonstrated leadership - Proven ability to effectively lead and train a diverse workforce.
- Must be able to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff.
- Must be able to prepare and analyze data and figures, and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with employees and guests and approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be computer literate with strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptable to learning new and customized software programs.
- Must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks with a high level of detail, and have a sense of urgency to completing projects.
- Ensure compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Assist in the Health & Safety program by ensuring that section 27 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are being followed: conduct employee training and accident investigations; coordinate Health & Safety training within the department.
- Must be able to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events on occasion, as needed.
- Must have employment eligibility in Canada.
