We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a dispatcher. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our drivers are on time, on schedule, and safely delivering goods to our customers.

The dispatcher works in close communication with all Drivers, Customers, Warehouse Staff, Operations, and Office Support staff. This position reports directly to the Victoria Terminal Manager and Fleet, Facilities, Claims, and Logistics Manager. This is a **7 am start**, **Tuesday to Saturday, Full-Time **position.

**Responsibilities**
- South Island dispatch in its entirety;
- Limited north and Vancouver dispatch when required;
- Routing 5 ton trucks and tractor-trailers for pick-ups & deliveries;
- Book freight delivery appointments with the assistance of front office support staff;
- Liaise with drivers and Operations daily to implement planning strategies;
- Assist with drivers scheduling;
- Effective equipment utilization;
- Tracking and tracing of JIT delivery to key customers;
- Assist with OS&D to help solve shipment issues with a focus on customer satisfaction;
- Liaise with Warehouse management and daily warehouse operations;
- Customer Service Communications;
- Implementation of company policies;
- Point of contact for driver training and driver development;
- Work closely with the dispatch operations team.

**Qualifications**
- Customer-focused with superior interpersonal and organizational skills required;
- Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently and maneuver through an active warehouse;
- Proficient on a computer, experience with Insight software is an asset;
- Confident decision maker, strategic thinker, with some understanding of logistics;
- Must work well as part of a team and under pressure;
- Dispatch experience and knowledge of Vancouver Island & lower mainland, an asset.
