**Position Summary**:
Provides support to the building of research capacity and collaborative partnerships with communities and research organizations. Maintains and strengthens interdepartmental support and information sharing across the organization as well as with health system partners. Offers technical and functional support to grant funded research projects. Ensures close communication and project coordination for research project teams.
**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Promotes best practices in Indigenous research and assists researchers with engaging and collaborating with communities in respectful and meaningful ways
- Supports the implementation of the FNHA research and policy agenda’s by generating research projects and conducting knowledge exchange activities to address health priorities
- Coordinates research projects and teams; assists in proposal writing and the collection/analysis and interpretation of data for reporting, and knowledge exchange and translation activities
- Compiles and maintains an inventory of active research projects in the province
- Liaises with partners and academic institutions to build organizational research capacity
- Contributes to the development and administration of research ethics processes within the FNHA

**Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a specialization in Public Health, Public Policy, Health Information Management/Sciences, Research Methods, or Aboriginal/Indigenous Governance, plus 3-5 years of experience in research, analysis, grant writing and multi-jurisdictional partnerships or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A Master’s degree would be an asset
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience working with First Nations/Aboriginal people in health is an asset
**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
- Knowledge of academic research practices, methods and tools
- Knowledge of First Nations health issues and the current context of health governance transformation in BC
- Knowledge of existing health systems at the regional, provincial and federal levels
- Knowledge of the OCAP® Principles, Indigenous research methods, and ethics
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
